Polyamory for the Practical

Polyamory 101

In observing how people get to this site, it occurs to me that there are people reading this who have never heard of polyamory, and might find some of this site a little on the confusing side.

Because of my famed kindness and generosity I took a series of articles already on the site and set them up so that you could read them in an order that spells out pretty clearly what we're doing here.

If you don't want to bother with a lot of reading, then this definition will suffice:

Polyamory : The practice, state or ability of having more than one sexual loving relationship at the same time, with the full knowledge and consent of all partners involved."

This is the definition as written by Morning Glory Zell Ravenheart.   She is a member of a rather long standing poly family, and in fact coined the term.   A Bouquet of Lovers is a supurb article on the subject.   Do read it.   (I have a great deal of respect for people who carve out their own lives, rather than unilaterally accept norms, or unilaterally reject them.   This article seems to me to be written by a person who has strived to do exactly that).

If you're actually a member of a poly family, you can join this list.   Most of us find it refreshing to be able to discuss poly issues with people who "live the dream" as it were.   You don't actually have to be a member of a poly marriage to join, but most members are.
